The Bob Bridgman Scholarship

Professor Robert “Bob” Bridgman taught mathematics at MU for 28 years. Prior to coming to Mansfield, he taught mathematics at Eastern Michigan University for seven years. Bob loved mathematics and teaching the subject. He had a powerful influence on his students. He took the initiative to guide, help, challenge and encourage them to achieve and become more than they ever dreamed they could. Summarizing his career late in life, Bob wrote: “So I have had a great time. I have never really had to work for a living.” His positive influence on people extended beyond his students to his family, colleagues, and his neighbors. The Bob Bridgman Scholarship is to further extend his influence beyond his time on earth.
