James York Glimm Scholarship in English
This scholarship was established through gifts from Marjorie Hoffman Glimm in memory of her husband, Dr. James York Glimm as well as members of his extended family, colleagues, friends and former students. After completing a Ph.D. in English literature at the University of Texas, Dr. Glimm taught in the English Department at Mansfield University for thirty years. His teaching was distinguished throughout his career by the interest and care he showed in encouraging the best efforts of his students in his writing and literature classes. His original scholarship led to the publication of two classic works of Pennsylvania folklore, “Flatlanders and Ridgerunners” and “Snakebite”.
