Amy Place Barnes Nursing Scholarship
Amy O’Rourke and Patricia Seibert established the Amy Place Barnes Nursing Scholarship in loving memory of their mother, Amy Place Barnes.
Amy studied Art at Mansfield University before graduating in 1977. She went on to Elmira College where she studied Business before graduating in 1989 and has completed coursework at both Regis College and the University of Phoenix.
While at IBM, Amy worked to develop and manage a budget against firm business requirements and deliverables while developing needed risk assessments. She was also responsible for assembling project teams and tasked with ensuring all contractual obligations were filled including all functions in finance, accounting, human resources, policy development, education and program evaluation.
Amy was the recipient of both the IBM Gold Award (1998) and the IBM Excellence Award (2001).
Amy has obtained an IMB Project Management Certificate and a Philanthropy Management Certificate from that Lilly School of Philanthropy.
Amy is currently active in student recruiting for IBM Internships, student mentoring, resume/mock interviewing and Dress to Impress coaching. Amy is an active alumni of the Delta Zeta Sorority, sponsoring events to grow the DZ membership, promote DZ fundraising programs and DZ alumni outreach.
